Anton Pieck

I am a fan of Anton Pieck. What an amazing talented man!

Anton Franciscus Pieck (19 April 1895 – 24 November 1987) was a Dutch painter, artist and graphic artist. His works are noted for their nostalgic or fairy tale-like character and are widely popular, appearing regularly on cards and calendars. He is also famous for designing the fairy tale forest in Dutch theme park De Efteling.

He designed a whole theme park!
I think I came across him looking at art on eBay.  I loved his 3D art the most.   I like his art framed too and bought two of them a number of years ago.

I bought this one years ago  off of eBay.  I never buy anything unless it is a great price, no matter how much I like it. This was a great price for this framed. This is 11x9 and the colors are muted. It is wonderful!

This one I bought in a local shop called Past Perfect. My daughter spotted it and showed it to me. This one is small and old. It is 6x8.
I just love the scene. I don't think it is very common because I have not found another one.

Because I like something does not mean I need to buy 50 of them.  I am happy with these two. There is another print of his that I like but I have not been able to find one in a frame, that I like.

So, if you are ever in the Netherlands, visit his museum :)

In 1984 the Anton Pieck Museum was opened at the Achterstraat in Hattem. The museum is called "Huis voor Anton Pieck" ("House for Anton Pieck"). It exhibits various art works by Pieck

There are many websites about him.  Here is one.
